Waterford Estates is one of two hotel-condos coming to South Bend. The other is a downtown mid-rise by GameDay Developments. The concept is that you own a condo, which the association will rent out as a hotel room when you aren’t occupying it. You and the association then split the proceeds. Waterford Estates is the former Ramada Inn and places the emphasis on the hotel side of hotel-condo. It offers pools, a fitness center, business center and two restaurants. Units are furnished with flat-screen TVs, Bose radios and hardwood furniture. They do not have kitchens, but do have convenience centers with a small fridge. The rooms, or “bays” are roughly 300 - 500 square feet, but it is possible to purchase multiple rooms and combine them or use existing connecting doors.
