Barrington Estates is a gated community that offers a range of housing options in four better than normal settings: lake, creek, wooded and golf course lots. Barrington includes modest villas, extravagant estates, and many choices in between. Whatever house you opt for, you’ll have Mishawaka utilities and Penn Schools in this neighborhood.
If you’re on the water, you’ll know that you live on a spring-fed lake so desirable that area residents would risk arrest to hike to it and swim or fish before the neighborhood was built. Now it shares its wooded shores with stately homes. One resident who lived on the lake reports:
It is a natural sanctuary and has fantastic fishing. I think it was 40 feet deep in certain areas. The firemen even use it for SCUBA practice. We stocked it with bass and blue gill and now it has some catfish and lots of turtles.
The fish would come and eat bread crumbs and then [my grandchildren] would scoop them up with a net. One neighbor even built nests / homes for butterflies and the duck eggs. There are no motors on the lake, so it’s really for fishing and looks.
Barrington’s southeast location is tucked away and private, yet near the newly expanded Capital Road which quickly connects you to major highways or runs you to the Grape Road commercial corridor and it’s many shopping and dining options.
