Westwood Hills is a development on the growing northwest side of South Bend. The first homes in the neighborhood were built in 1996. A number of its homes back to ponds or wetlands. The northwest side setting places residents near golf at Elbel, or Blackthorn and to dining at the South Bend Country Club or the Carriage House. It also provides easy access to the US 80-90 Toll Rd for a quick trip to Chicago and is just moments from the airport. Westwood Hills is home to a great mix of neighbors, many of which catch up daily for happy hours or for annual events such as the “spring fling”, 4th of July picnic, fishing derby, pancake breakfast, and other great events coordinated by the social committee. With the future development of Portage Prairie, there is the anticipation of even more proximal retail amenities to this side of town.
