Whispering Hills is a quiet neighborhood on South Bend’s growing south side. Its winding streets and cul-de-sacs are lightly trafficked, yet it is just minutes from US 31 and the US 20 “by-pass.” Neighborhood covenants require each house to have several “architectural elements” and a minimal amount of masonry on the front of each home, resulting in a neighborhood of distinct but not disjointed homes. We built on one of the few lots left in Whispering Hills. We chose this area because of the woods and the hills within the setting. The lots are large and each home unique. This area gives one a remote feeling that you are one with nature yet knowing you are just 5-7 minutes from all the shopping one would need. The south side is growing so more commercial places will come in yet Whispering Hills still allows us to hear the whisper of the trees and the birds singing every day with an occasional deer crossing through the woods.
